Spencer Fisher vs
Ross Pearson
UFC 127 in Sydney, Australlia - February 26th
The King is set to fight
once again, February 26th for UFC 127 in Sydney,
Australia with a promising bout against Ross Pearson. Pearson was
the Ultimate Fighter 9 winner when he out dueled Andre Winner
carding a unanimous decision. Although with early success in the
octagon winning his three first fights, Pearson’s last fight did not
go as planned, losing to Cole Miller due to a rear naked at UFC
Fight Night 22 on September 15th 2010. Pearson fights
out of and is from Sunderland, England where he trains with Team
Rough House, he is a standup fighter with significant boxing and
Thai Boxing ability. Spencer coming off his latest win against Kurt
Warburton, looked like his old self, scoring with knees, superman
punches, spinning back kicks and off course his devastating right
hook. The King received a well deserved unanimous decision in
October at UFC 120 which put him up to fight Pearson. From a skills
standpoint the two fighters look similar, both enjoy the standup and
bang facet of MMA but the two have also had three of the same
opponents. Siver, Warburton and Riley have each been beaten by
either Spencer or Ross, whether or not either fighter will gain an
edge from film or from their experience from similar opponents.
With these similar oppositions and skill sets, The King will be
using his superior submission ability, speed and overall fight
experience to chalk up another win in Australia. The fight will take
place at the Acer arena in Sydney on February 27th and 26th
in North America due to the time difference, which will be live in
the U.S. and live in the UK on ESPN for the first time.
