Spencer “The King” Fisher was born May 9th 1976
in Brevard, North Carolina and is 32 years old. Spencer
was raised by his grandparents CB and Ernestein Chappell.
Spencer grew up watching pro wrestling and admiring Rick
Flair.
Spencer is married to Emily Fisher, also a MMA fighter
holding a professional record of 3-1. They have three
daughters Aleta, Madison, Lucia and live in Bettendorf,
Iowa.
Spencer is an avid hunter and loves the outdoors. Hunting
in the South and Midwest are his two favorite places to
Deer hunt. Spencer also enjoys riding his bike and
spending time with friends and family.
Spencer fights in the 155 lightweight division and
currently has a UFC record of 7-3 with a 24-4 overall
professional record. Spencer is known for his quick and
powerful stand up that comes from many years of Boxing.
His training has enabled him to overwhelm opponents and
completely take them out of their element in the cage.
Along with striking Spencer is known for his fight-ending
knees (ask Matt Wiaman) and his creativity using his
elbows. Spencer has trained in Muay Thai and Jiu-jitsu
allowing him to complete 2 of his wins in the UFC by
Triangle Choke.
In his time before the UFC Spencer won several Heavyweight
and Middleweight boxing bouts in North Carolina and has
brought his knowledge from the ring into the cage. Reggie
Holland has been Spencer's boxing coach since 1996, the
first year he started boxing.
Spencer has spent time training overseas in Thailand at
the Fairtex training camp.
Spencer has trained with many decorated fighters including
boxing coach Jeremy Williams and a Multi-Time World
Champion Muay Thai fighter, Coban Lookchaomaesaitong.
Currently Spencer is Training with two boxing coaches,
Reggie Holland and Jeremy Williams. He is also working
with the #1 Bantam Weight Jiu-jitsu practitioner in the
world, Robson Moura.
Spencer's first fight was in Pekin, Illinois against
Derick Noble at the Silver Back Challenge where he won by
a triangle choke 2:00 minutes into the 1st
round. Fishers last fight was at UFC 90 against Shannon
Gugerty, he ended the fight 3:55 seconds into the 3rd
round due to a Triangle Choke giving him his 7th
win in the UFC.
Spencer is looking to build on his recent success when he
travels overseas to Germany this June for his next UFC
fight!
