NEXT FIGHT:
Friday June 22nd
Atlantic City, New Jersey
Spencer Fisher for the
third and final time will be stepping into the octagon and facing
his battle ridden foe Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout. “The King” and
Stout hold two of the top 100 best UFC fights of all time. Their
2nd battle dropped in at number 65 and their first
fight, and all out fisticuff put the two strikers at number 16 on
the list. The first fight had much more drama and intrigue with
“The King” taking the bout on two days notice and somehow dropping
22lbs in two days. The fight went all three rounds and
reluctantly for both fighters went to the judges, Sam Stout won on
what is still thought to be a controversial split decision. None
the less, “The King” vowed to get that loss reconciled and a short
15 months later was able to do just that. The rematch was one of
the most anticipated in the light weight realm for years, the
stylistic match up of Sam’s world class Kick Boxing ability pitted
against Spencer’s bout ending right hand and creative style proved
to be more than enough for fans to tune in. They weren’t
disappointed, a fight that had an incredible feast with all the
trimmings, from straight rights, head kicks, upper cuts and one
judo hip toss that put Stout on his back “The King” took the fight
and ended the third round by dropping Stout to one knee with a
single punch! Not enough to knock out the Canadian but more than
enough to win Spencer a Unanimous decision.
Fast forward five years
and Dana White has called for the rubber match, Spencer is 1-4 in
his last fight and Stout has just lost to the Thiago Tavares at
UFC 142, same opponent “The King” lost to last year in Brazil.
Both fighters will be looking for the overall upper hand in their
incredible trilogy and also keeping their UFC careers in the right
direction. Spencer has moved to a new gym in Kentucky and is
currently at camp in Los Angele’s, CA. |
